Snoop Dogg back in the UK
The infamous Rap Star Snoop Dogg is returning to UK shores to play some special shows, the first time in 5 years. Snoop Dogg will play two headline shows one in Glasgow at the O2 Academy on July 4th and at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on Friday 9th July, as well as a main stage performance on Saturday 3rd July in Hyde Park at the Wireless Festival sponsored by Barclaycard. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 18th June from www.livenation.co.uk
It’s his natural appeal to both the hood and to Hollywood that has allowed Snoop Dogg to stay tremendously relevant through ten releases and numerous side projects. Since bursting into our collective consciousness alongside famed producer Dr. Dre on the 1992 classic The Chronic, Snoop has remained a constant force in Hip-Hop and a household name around the world. From songs like ‘Gin n Juice’ to ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ to ‘I Wanna Rock’, Snoop’s 10 album repertoire has changed the music game.
Because of this, Snoop entered into a first-of-its kind global deal with MTV that will bring his personality to television and his music to fans. The MTV deal provides marketing and promotion for Snoop’s albums, including ‘Malice in Wonderland’ The album and in stores now. In addition, songs from Snoop’s impressive catalogue of hits will be released on MTV’s hot-selling Rock Band music video game platform this year.
As Creative Chairman of Priority Records/EMI, the label that helped established West Coast Rap, Snoop is Re-launching Priority and drive efforts to maximize untapped digital and branding opportunities. He has also served as Executive Producer for a series of Priority releases commemorating the label’s 25th anniversary in 2010.
From music to movies, Twitter posts to TV shows (E!’s reality series Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood and MTV’s Dogg After Dark), Snoop Dogg remains not just at the forefront of the rap game but also at the apex of popular culture. And it’s his tales about his view from the top that ensure Malice N Wonderland will be yet another classic to add to the Chairman’s ever-growing portfolio as will these not to be missed shows…….
