Urban Music Awards Launch Party
The Urban Music Awards press launch was held at Tuatara night club in Chelsea. Tuatara is one of London’s hottest and newest venue’s and the venue Roll Deep chose to shoot their good Times video. With this in mind it was no surprise that the organisers of the Urban Music Awards chose this venue to hold this years press.
The night was hosted by Rachel White (Big Brother 11) and X Factors Andy Abraham who read the nominations and introduced the panel.
The panel were:
C.E.O of Urban Music Awards & Invincible Ltd, Jordan Kensington, Marketing Manager for Urban Music Awards & Invincible Ltd, Mark Smith, The Manager of The Tuatara Club and DJ Swerve from Kiss 100fm
Among the guest were legendary UK R&B group Damage, DJ Swerve (who was up for two awards) and other fellow nominees including dance troupe Status. Unfortunately many of the nominees from the best newcomers or the best Asian act categories couldn’t make it but we hope to catch them at the awards on the 18th September.
I did manage to get a minute with Jade of Damage (and fiancé of Emma Bunton) who introduced me to the rest of the Damage boys.
This was the first time I had met the boys but found them to be very down to earth and friendly, so if your like me and are fans of the boys you will be very interested to know that they officially announced they have got back together and are going to releasing a new track very soon.
Watch this space for more information on when it will be released.
The press conference was followed by a fashion show and the launch of Britain’s Next Model Superstar.
The Invincible group who run the UMAs are expanding into fashion. They put together an impressive line up from many up and coming designers. And the launch of Britain’s Next Model Superstar 2010 went down a storm with on lookers clamouring to get a look.
The evening wrapped up with the after party going into the early hours of the morning.
