Tuesday 19th October saw the opening of The Manorlogz Xtreme Spoken Word Championships 2010.

This ground-breaking project brings the spoken word art form to new audiences through an online poetry slam at The whole process will be broadcast via the dynamic new online television station, 4Front TV.

The flagship venture, that brings together quality talent and social interaction, opens up spoken word beyond a select few.

Hosted by the uncompromising Lateef Lovejoy, for your spoken word pleasure, the show featured one of the UK’s most revered artists, Polar Bear, the 2010 UK Unsigned Champion, Tshaka Campbell and one of spoken word’s most influential poets, Floetic Lara. Alongside the competition entrants, all performed on the night at the award-winning Revolution Bar – America Square in London.

With a line up that continues to grow, Manorlogz is fast establishing itself as a credible and definitive force within the UK spoken word scene.
The Mixup was invited along and on the night we witnessed some amazing and thought provoking acts.
Those who are fans of the growing spoken word scene would probably already be familiar with the names Polar Bear, Tshaka Campbell and Floetic Lara. The night however gave light to many more rising stars including Suli Breaks, Indigo Wiliams and Alim Kamara who all performed on the night to loud applause.

The Manorlogz Xtreme Spoken Word competition has been described as a fresh mix between The X-Factor and Def-Jam Poetry.
The way in which things work is that you upload your poetry video on the website where viewers will vote.
In the finals there will be five acts picked by the judges and five picked by the public according to online votes.

The slam final will be filmed in front of a live audience. Each act will be uploaded onto the Manorlogz website and will be voted for by the online audience. The entire final show will then broadcast online at a later date where the winner of Manorlogz 2010 will be revealed.
