After making her return in December with her new mixtape, ‘Spare Parts’ (introduced by DJ Hotsteppa) and single, ‘Get Down’ produced by Show N Prove (Wretch 32, Maxsta, Benny Banks, Rizzle Kicks) Amplify Dot has been working her socks off and Mistajam (BBC Radio 1Xtra) recently unveiled a small taste of what to expect from A Dot this upcoming year, the ‘Get Down’ remix!

Just recently flying back from New York after filming her video for the next single, ‘Kurt Cobain’ – our favourite rhymester felt it was important to give something back to the supporters who have made the ‘Spare Parts’ mixtape such a success and what a better way to do it? Teaming up with veteran MC Ghetts and Maxsta for the remix, she packs a powerful wordplay, punctuated with moments of arch perception and even hilarity on the track .

Speaking on her recent projects she says, “’Spare Parts’ and ‘Get Down’ are a gift from me to the supporters who have been with me from the start of my journey. When you’re recording an album you only end up using a fraction of everything you have recorded so I wanted to put together a collection of those ‘spare parts’ that won’t make the record and give them away as a thank-you.”

Her playfulness, teamed with bouts of fiery attitude, is a celebration of female power and identity, and as a result her output is self-referential without being a contrived introspection. 2013 – time to get Amplified!
